Look away: 3/?

What do you see? Eve saw and she took her life from GODโ€™s hands into hers (Genesis 3:6). Saul saw and he aborted his destiny (1 Samuel 13:11).

David saw and he worshipped GOD (2 Samuel 12:19). Elishaโ€™s servant saw and his faith was restored (2 Kings 6:17).

If a child grows up in a town where the men cook and the women farm, this becomes his reality. If another grows up in a household where the men lead and the women nurture, that becomes his reality.

Our environment conditions us. The things we see determine our expectations. It is through exposure that dealbreakers are formed and boundaries delineated.

However, our different realities, good or bad, are subject to a standard outside both realities. How do we know this? Because there is an invisible standard that we all try to adhere toโ€”even though we mostly fail. It is why we often feel good when we do good and feel bad when we commit transgressions.

We might not know the specifics of this standard, but we know when we fall short of it. There is a tug within us and around us we see the terrible effects of our consistently falling below this standardโ€”missing the mark.

โ€“

If we admit to this invisible thing that is within us all, why do we often act like the physical is all there is? Why do we want to believe that when we die thatโ€™s the end and thereโ€™s nothing beyond? Does this bring peace or just a false sense of it to hold on to for another day? What if there was something more sustainable? A way to stop missing the mark? A way to make peace with eternity?

And no, not morbid resignation that results in hedonism. Instead, true peace from the Prince of Peace. The kind that will leave you immune to the worldโ€™s troublesโ€”like our JESUS who slept in the storm.

In John 6:44, JESUS says, โ€œNo man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.โ€ This is THE eternity. To be drawn and then raised.

We are not here for long. It is the enemyโ€™s purpose to derail us from the invisible which is eternal and the most important thing. We have to go beyond just what our eyes see. THIS world is not all there is. It is NOT all there is. This world is not ALL there is.

What are you seeing? What do you see right now? A conditioning that has so far charted your course through life? Do not get so used to missing the mark that your prison becomes your homeโ€”even the lawful captives shall be delivered (Isaiah 49:25). Is it not yet time to break free? It is. Your faith will activate the invisible. Believe in what you cannot see. HE is here. JESUS is here. HE knocks. Will you open? Will you see HIM?

โ€“

Deuteronomy 29:29 – โ€œThe secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.โ€

You cannot always know. Even your physical eyes have betrayed you before, not so? It is ok to not know. There are indeed secret things. What would be the point of faith if we knew everything? Without mystery, would we need faith to stay away from the tree? But there are also the revealed thingsโ€”today, JESUS is revealed to you here and now.

You are not beyond help. But you must begin to look away. Look away from guilt, bitterness and everything that keeps you in chains. You can choose what you see. Will you be Eve or Elishaโ€™s servant? Saul or David?

It is up to you. But I tell you, if you stretch out your hand right now you will meet the pierced but fierce grip of the Master JESUS waiting. It is the sweetest embrace.

โ€œโ€ฆ if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.โ€ Romans 10:9 AMP.
